Facebook Transmissions, Part 1: The Mardi Gras E-mails

In an effort to move all of my stories to one location, I'm going to have a few entries ported from my Facebook to this blog.  The first of which is "The Mardi Gras E-mails". This was originally posted to Facebook on February 15th, 2010.  It is a discussion, over e-mail, between Matt Meis and I.  We're trying to recollect what we did on Mardi Gras...which was a little wild.  Enjoy.

In an attempt to recall what happened from Friday around 9:30 pm to roughly 5:00 am Sunday morning, Meis and I had a hell of an e-mail conversation this morning. If you have anything to add to this, by all means, please do. To anyone that was near us, I apologize. To Sidebar, I can't say this enough - I'm sorry! Judging by the pics, it was a complete shit show. Lots of great memories, though. If you can call them that. I blame myself, mostly.

Javo has a piture of you and I chug-battling with our JD pints, probably the
tipping point for me.

No clue about anything between Bamboo Bistro and Sidebar. I do remember
saying "Just reopen my tab."

I think we were COMPLETELY lost when we left Soulard. I remember spiking my
empty pint of Jack. That should've been the end - I should've been cutoff at
that point. We grabbed the first cab we saw, told some random guy to get
in, who happened to be going to Crowne Plaza, and went to Bamboo Bistro.

Do you not remember watching YouTube videos or playing Cannonball? What
about that guy passing out on the kitchen table?

Saturday was INSANE. That was, without a doubt, the drunkest I have ever
seen you. We went to your fraternity brother's house, met up with
Bridgette, Amanda Muraski and Nicole Farrelly - all at different times. One
of which, we used an ambulance as a lead blocker. Then, we drunkenly
wandered Soulard, because somehow we all got separated. We took a cab with
a rando to Bamboo Bistro where, miraculously, Chelsey and Meaghan met up
with us. I have NO idea how they found us there. At all. Now, here's the
part I'm a little hazy with. I'm not entirely sure what happened between
getting back to the apartment and watching all of those videos before we
left. I remember you, me, Chelsey and Meaghan being the only people that
made it to Sidebar. Ross, AJ, and Kyler met up with us there. Then, I woke
up. During the period of my blackout I:

1. Closed your tab and had to rewrite what you put in for a tip because you
just put 7 loops on the tip line. Total damage: $96.
2. Apparently took 37 pictures with Bri and some of the staff.
3. Bought a complete stranger that just walked into the bar a shot.
4. Got carried down Washington Ave by Meaghan and Chelsey.
5. Fell asleep sitting down on the couch.

I honestly don't have a single memory between 9:00 PM and 8:00 AM. With my
first solid thought coming in around 3:00 PM as you guys were leaving. I
never want to be that drunk again for the rest of my natural born life.

I remember Shoe being there. That sucks about Chelsey's phone, and for some
reason she thought I had it. I wish I did, so she didn't have to get a new
one, but sadly I did not. Can you clue me into what happened on Saturday?

I'm glad everyone is okay. I slept all day and am still tired. I was so
hungover I watched "Dude, Where's My Car?" and "17 Again", starring Zach
Efron, three times and two times, respectively.

Oh and after you left, apparently I had a photo shoot with a bunch of the
cocktail waitresses at Sidebar. I have no idea where my sunglasses are, or
where I lost them. Chelsey lost her phone, I lost my dignity...

I don't even remember Shoe being at Sidebar on Friday.

Yeah, we were fine. Originally, the amount of force we hit it with, I
thought it was going to be really bad. But, a headlight broke, and some
scratches, but we could still drive it and it made it all the way back w/o
any big issues. I don't even really know what happened, she didn't do
anything wrong, just all of a sudden we were sideways and the impact was
unavoidable. Extremely lucky on all accounts really.

So, I'd say a car wreck was a fairly fitting bookend for my weekend. Really
sums it up well.

You lost 2 pair of sunglasses?
